Carnival 2009

It is that time of year again. We love going to the carnival! We skipped last year, so this year was extra special. All the kids were able to go on the rides. It is fun having older kids! There is just a lot you can do. The sun was blaring so we all piled on the sunscreen and for once nobody (DON) got sunburned. We all got a little tan though. It was a lot of fun!

I just have to say that if you don't go on rides very often, then they are scary all over again. I was scared to move for the first half of the Ferris wheel ride!
It thought this was cute. I don't think Tia could do that! He had a little stage coach for his little dog show. Hyrum liked looking in it at the dogs.

Texas Days!

Here in Texas, we have our own little country, or it seems that way to me sometimes. They celebrate Texas starting in Kindergarten. They say the normal "Pledge of Allegiance" and then follow it with another pledge to the Texas flag! They have a week long celebrate of Texas in school. In Idaho, you learned about the state in 4th grade and that was it. Here it is all through elementary school. It is great to have pride in your state. But really I think you should have more pride in your country. Anyway, here are some pictures I took of the Elena, Adelyn, and Hyrum during Texas week. Hyrum definitely thought he was part of the big boys! When he lost interest in being big, he found the sandbox.
They played a lot of games and here is Elena during her sack race. I thought she was going to fall in that dress!

They put on a parade for the other grades to watch. They had to make some kind of cowboy float. I only got out supplies and let her do it all herself.

Elena and Hyrum are showing us where we live. Did you notice Hyrum's cute little pants?!

Elena wanted her picture taken on Adelyn's cowgirl day.Adelyn is wearing her Texas Day outfit my mom bought her. Her face is all beat up from a hula hoop accident. How that happened I have no idea.
Adelyn is watching Elena's grade's parade. She sure looks excited doesn't she. ;)

The lonely only ones home during the day

I tooks some pictures of just the people who are home during the day. But first here is our little Tia.Hyrum wanted to take a picture with me.
Here he is whining because he didn't get to push the button to take the picture.
Now I decide he needs a kiss to feel better! Yea, like that is going to happen! !)

Adelyn Soccer

I have a few more pictures of Adelyn's game then Elena's. They played at the same time, and the coaches also had them rotate in at the same time. I was running back and forth between the two games. Luckily, they played pretty close to each other.

Adelyn was excited to be on the same team as Alexis. She was on Adelyn's team last year. Her dad has coached this year and last year.

Adelyn is raiding her spoils after her game. We were waiting for Elena's game to finish.

Elena Soccer

We decided that like last year the girls would play soccer in the Spring. The weather is colder then. It seems in the fall that it would be too hot to play soccer. That is coming from someone who played in the freezing rain, sleet, and snow! Maybe you just get use to it no matter what the weather is like.

The tradition is to create a tunnel for the kids after the game.

Valentines Card

This was our Valentines Card this year. I like to make cards! I bet you couldn't tell. ;)

Vacation!

Don and I took a little trip in February. We had all these big plans and then decided to go San Antonio. It turned out to be a blast! That could be because Don planned the vacation around what he thought I would like to do. I was OK with that! :D We drove there and stayed in this REALLY nice resort. It was the coolest place ever! I would go there again just to eat the breakfast they serve. We did alot of fun stuff together. We got massages and pedicures. We went to movies. We went horse back riding. Best of all we spent time together! Here is our self portrait in the hotel. I couldn't decide which way I like the photo. So you get to see it both ways.
I made Don take this photo. I just love him!
This cat was following us at the stables. I love this coloring on a cat. It was a very friendly cat. There was a time when I would've held this cat, but in my old age I have come to not touch strange cats. Hopefully, the cat was satisfied by the attention it got from getting its picture taken.
