My Little 6 Year Old!

You know everyone always tells you how time goes by fast. That the time you have all the little ones at home is short. But when you are in that time it seems like forever. And to be honest it is hard! It is a great time, but for me having three at home was definitely hard. Now that Elena is in school and my youngest is 2 my life is easier. I feel like now I mourn the younger years of Elena. I love her so much it hurts to know she will not always be that little toddler.
Well enough of the sadness, it was Elena's birthday. And that is something to celebrate not mourn. We did have fun! We were just going to have a little party for her with family and close friends, but everyone was sick or busy. So we had just our family to celebrate with her. She was so excited for her birthday. She got to open her cards from her great grandma Valeri and from her grandma Hausen. We took her to the store and bought her presents from them. She got to pick what was for dinner and the kind of cake. I actually let her pretty much make it this time. Then we got a movie to watch which she picked out. Though Adelyn did help influence her. Dinner, movie, presents, cake, and phone calls was the order of the events for the party. So here are the pictures I ended up taking. Thank you everyone for the presents and the love you give my oldest child. I love her and am happy you all do too!

This is how the cake blowing went. We are singing the happy birthday song to her in this photo.
Now she is making her wish.
Here is the BIG Blow!
She didn't get all of them in the first blow.
This photo is her talking to family members who called and wished her a happy birthday. She really enjoyed this. It added so much to her feeling special so thank you again. :)
This is my little wonderful moment.

I've checked in here a few times today hoping you'd make a birthday post :)

It's so nice that I can "talk" on here since I have no voice anymore (really, I can't say a word).

I'm sad we couldn't come over, but it looks like you guys had a blast. Elena looks so big in the pictures. I can't believe how much she's grown in just this year. It makes me sad and I'm just the aunt. It was hard to get used to her not being around during the day.

We'll have to come over and give her some attention when we're healthy. I am glad that we didn't come over and spread the germs, though- Allan's sick now, too :(

Your birthday post with the pictures and commentary brought tears to my eyes. I remember holding Elena when she was just a few days old, and I remember sensing her kind, sweet spirit. She is truly one of the Lord's choice spirits reserved to come forth in the last days. I love Elena with all my heart and cherish all the fun and quiet times Elena and I have shared through the years. Okay, so now I'm actually crying. :)
