Christmas Season 2011

Well we have a lot of pictures to show today. Grandma and Grandpa Hausen come to visit! In fact, these first few pictures are from them. We went to the Mercer Arboretum and walked around. Lately everytime we go there it seems like they have done something new. This makes it a treat to walk around and explore to see what is new.

Here is all of us together.Grandpa decided to take a picture of me!
I think this was the most smile Hyrum would give. FETCHER! Hehe :P
The kids LOVED having Grandma and Grandpa there with us. They are way more exciting then Don and I.
We had another year of great fall colors (for Texas anyway)! I just had to get a picture of it. Soooo I begged Don to stand there and let me take some pictures.
He kinda tolerated it.
That is right put your nose in the air! Fetcher! What is with the boys in this family?!
And then we have Grandpa. Redemption for the boys team! Thank you Grandpa!
Here we all are. Again notice the boys. Even Michael has decided to join Don and Hyrum in the "anti picture movement".
But luckily we have mainly girls in this family! Here is Adelyn.
Leslie Lu was loving pointing to everything. Such a fun age I think!
So when we got out of the car and I put Michael in my jacket. Little miss Adelyn decided she was SOOOOO embarrassed of me! She begged me to not look like this. I just can't imagine why though? Can you?! I LOVE my Curves.!)
Leaves anyone?
Don took these next 2 pictures. He was able to get a better smile from Hyrum.
Don is definitely getting better at taking pictures! Course it helps to have such wonderful subjects!
Again with the pointing! So cute!
These last few pictures the girls wanted to have them taken. They picked where and how. And just like a true model they are very opinionated about it!

Elena took this one.

Sleepy Michael

How can any parent resist these moments! Especially with this little one. He sure has given me my run for the money. He has been waking up about every 2 hours at night! I thought that only lasts till they were 2 to 3 weeks. Apparently he didn't get that memo!

More from Elena's 10 Birthday

Here is Nena and her friends. We went and saw the movie "Puss in Boots". These girls had a fun time. Elena was over the top happy and outgoing. As a parent it is fun to see your child this way.It really was a super silly group!!! They were dancing around in the car on the way home that I just had to stop and let them play freeze dance in a parking lot. So totally girlie and so totally fun!

Elena's 10th Birthday!

Holy Cow! I swear every year goes by faster and faster!!

I really hope her birthday wishes come true!

Since she is older now we decided to do something different for her birthday. We took her and some friends to the movies and cupcakes afterwards! So we didn't make her family party and gifts very big. But she ended up having a BLAST anyway! I will have to share those cellphone shots later. I just love this girl!

Halloween

The three older kids picked out their costumes. They LOVE looking through the various magazines for their costumes. We went with a cute and cuddly theme for the younger two.
Since you can't really see this little guy I took these and Daddy joined him for fun.

Sore Foot

I got a call from the school nurse saying Hyrum was hurt. A kid knocked over some kind of cubby thing and it fell on Hyrum's foot. His foot was a little swollen and sore so he got to come home. At first I think he thought it would be GREAT to be home but he quickly learned that staying home is not at all what it is cracked up to be.

On my way to the kitchen I saw him like this and just had to take a picture. He is waiting for his sisters to come home and little does he know he still has a LONG time to wait! If you look closely you can see he only has one shoe on his feet. It took a few days for him to walk normally after it got hurt.
These two picutres are just for fun and because I like them.

My Loving Mother

My mom came to help with the new baby. Originally she was coming so Don wouldn't have to take off so many days from work. It certainly didn't work that way! Don decided to take off those days for a break for him also! LOL!

It was so nice to have her come and help. Leslie really enjoyed having her here. She got to go on long walks with grandma and she got lots of individual attention from her. This helped me be able to rest and not worry about anything. I didn't have to think about getting kids up, breakfast, entertainment for Leslie, lunch, school work, kids chores, dinner, and cleanup. Man listing those things makes me wish she could come back!

But because of her I got to focus on just this little guy and myself. Which was very nice.My mom doesn't want to smile big because she is worried about wrinkles.
But those wrinkles are symbols of time spend bettering oneself in love and service to others. And I think she looks beautiful with her real smile anyway!
